Pretty Quotes

Happy Leap Day! This is going to be a short post because it is 70 degrees and sunny outside; I almost forgot it is still February! I am dying to get out and enjoy the weather!

While getting my daily dose of Pinterest in, I have been repinning a bunch of pretty quotes. They are both pretty to look at and good quotes to live by. So, I thought I would share my favorite ones!

I had a chance to go into Forever 21 this weekend with my friends. I didn't have much time to shop because it was ten minutes to close, but I noticed the over abundance of cute summer hats! If I was going on a spring break trip to a beautiful beach (I wish!) I would be in search of the perfect hat.

I am extremely pale and very self conscious of the sun and my skin, so I am always looking for a cute way to protect my face. I find that the big floppy ones provide the best coverage from the sun. These are the ones that I am loving.

My second favorite kind of hat for summer is the fedora. They started trending last year and they will still be popular this summer! They don't protect as much of your face and neck, but are still super cute to wear with your swim suit or just around!

Weekend Recap!

I had a very eventful weekend! I went bowling with friends on Friday, that was quite an adventure! Then on Saturday I saw Young the Giant with Walk the Moon at Newport Music Hall. It was absolutely fantastic! I liked both bands before I went and now I am in love with both of them. I am disappointed I didn't take more pictures. :(

Since I lacked on pictures, I thought I would add a tutorial of how I did my eye makeup for the concert!

First, you want to apply an eye primer so it stays on all night. My favorite is Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Then you want to cover your entire eyelid up to the arch of your brow with a light shimmery color. I used bud from Stila's Dream in Full Color palette. Next, I used a slightly darker brown, fable from the same palette, to cover just my eyelid. I finished off my eyeshadow by using a dark brown, infinite, into the crease of my eye to achieve the smoky eye.

Then, I did a winged liner using Stila's sparkle waterproof liquid eye liner in spectrum. Next, I used Maybelline's Master Drama in Midnight Master to line beneath my eyes and my water line. I finished the look off by curling my eyelashes and applying two coats of mascara. Voila!

Pocketful of Sunshine

Yesterday was a beautiful day in Ohio, the weather put me in the best mood. The sunshine was such a tease, it was so beautiful and warm. I can't wait for spring break and more importantly, summer. In spite of the fabulous sunshine, I decided that I wanted to have more yellow things to brighten up my life!

Four Legged Friends and 40 Days

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

I have been super obsessed with dogs lately! I grew up with a golden retriever and years after he passed away we inherited a black lab mix from my sister. I have been wanting a doggy companion so badly, but we aren't allowed to have pets in my apartment. :( A girl can dream right?

Also, today starts 40 days of lent and since I am Catholic I am choosing to give up something. It's going to be tough, but I am giving up ~~homework~~ pop. I have just been drinking it way too much lately. I hope that if I can get through 40 days then I won't be so addicted to it anymore! Good bye Diet Coke! You will be missed dearly!

iPad Case

I bought my iPad 2 right after Christmas and I am absolutely addicted to it. My original intent was to buy a new laptop, something smaller and more portable than my 17' Dell laptop. It was just becoming way too heavy to travel to class with on a daily basis. I really wanted a MacBook, but didn't really want to spend that kind of money since my laptop is still functioning well. Then I looked at netbooks, they are a lot cheaper and fit all of my needs, but once again I wondered if I would regret my decision in another year.

So, I started researching the iPad. Since it is rather new to the world, I didn't know if it would be able to accomplish everything I needed to do on a daily basis. Turns out it does! There is an app for just about anything! Also, it is so handy to be able to take it to class and access everything I need without my backpack weighing 50 pounds!

As of right now my iPad sports a teal generic case from Target, but I want to upgrade to a cute case! I like the portfolio design the best because it functions as both a case and a stand. These are some of the ones I am lusting after!
